What is Red Light Therapy (RLT)
Red Light Therapy (RLT) or Photobiomodulation delivers a therapeutic dose of red and near-infrared light in an efficient full body treatment. When light is applied with the right wavelength, intensity, and duration, your body’s cells react by producing more energy. So instead of just having enough energy to get by, your cells get a boost that allows them to repair, replicate, and do their jobs. When all the different cells in your body all do their jobs really, really well, you get broad health benefits.
How It Works
Red light therapy is thought to work by acting on the “power plant” in your body’s cells called mitochondria. With more energy, other cells can do their work more efficiently, such as repairing skin, boosting new cell growth and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work.
Penetration and Absorption

Near-infrared light, which falls within the range of 700 to 1200 nanometers on the electromagnetic spectrum, penetrates the skin more deeply than red light. This deeper penetration allows it to reach tissues and cells located further beneath the skin's surface.

THE SYNERGY BETWEEN RED LIGHT THERAPY AND INFRARED SAUNA

Incorporating both infrared sauna and red-light therapy into your wellness routine can bring about synergistic health benefits.

Deep Detox and Rejuvenation: While the infrared sauna helps in deep detoxification, red light therapy aids in rejuvenation. The sauna stimulates perspiration to flush out toxins, and RLT aids the body’s repair processes to promote healing and rejuvenation.

Optimized Skin Health: The combination of increased circulation from the infrared sauna and the cellular regeneration promoted by red light therapy can lead to improved skin health, with potential benefits including enhanced collagen production, reduced signs of aging, and improved healing of wounds or scars.

Enhanced Recovery: Both therapies can support post-workout recovery. The infrared sauna can alleviate muscle tension and accelerate the elimination of lactic acid, while RLT can reduce inflammation and stimulate tissue repair.

Stress Reduction and Sleep Improvement: Regular sessions in the infrared sauna can promote relaxation and stress reduction, while the calming effects of red light therapy can help regulate circadian rhythms, leading to better sleep.

While each therapy provides distinctive benefits, using them in tandem can amplify their effects, leading to more robust health outcomes. Infrared sauna and red light therapy – when used separately or together – offer an exciting frontier in holistic health, enabling us to leverage the therapeutic properties of light to boost our overall well-being.
